Day 1

STOP 1: Sweet Start at The Donut Shop

If you’ve ever wondered if donuts think about you as much as you think about them, this is the place to find out. The Donut Shop in South Hill serves, you guessed it, donuts. Sprinkled. Glazed. Powdered. Iced. You name it, they’ve got it. Stop in early and get in your hole foods for the day. You donut want to miss this stop.

STOP 2: Gifts Galore at Lundy Layne

Excellent gift items are just one of the things you’ll find at this fun, versatile shop. The latest styles are available for folks of all shapes and sizes, with a great line of accessories and jewelry to boot. The home decor will have you finally getting rid of that tired, coffee stained side table, and admiring your new wall art. Some of our favorites are the “happy camper” short wine glasses and the basil and mint hand soap from their extensive line of bath products. Lundy Layne is definitely a happy place for shoppers.

STOP 3: Lost Treasures

Next stop, more shopping. Lost Treasures has 10,000 sq. ft space filled with vendor booths, each stocked with their own unique finds. In one booth you may find a mid-century modern chair. Around the corner you may find an old Bon Jovi album waiting for an 80s big hair revival. Inventory changes week-to-week so there’s always a reason to come back.

STOP 4: Kahill’s Restaurant and Pub

Shopping sure can work up an appetite. Kahill’s Restaurant has perfected the culinary art ofPub Grub. Grab ample amounts of napkins and prepare your stomach for some mouth-watering goodness. You can order up every day favorites like barbecue ribs or a massive angus burger. Or you can be adventurous and try the open-faced brisket with sunny side eggs. Oh, and save room for some mega bite milky way cake. This place is why diet is a four-letter word. What are you waiting for? As the locals say, “Get in here!”

STOP 5: New to You Consignment

Three floors, 200 vendors, infinite shopping possibilities. You never know what you’re going to find at New to You Consignment. A festive gnome for your holiday centerpiece. An antique toy fire truck. Jewelry--both new, hand-crafted and classic estate pieces. Maybe you’ll spy a refurbished hutch or a milk glass vase. Treasure hunters, this store is for you.

STOP 6: Lake County Indoor Flea Market

A browser’s paradise, this massive indoor flea market boasts a huge assortment of hard to find flea market items, antiques and collectibles, crystalware, Fenton glass and Depression glass, among many many other items. There’s a year-round Christmas Shop, because it’s always the right time to add to your merry collection. You’ll spend some time here, so come prepared to be wowed and leave with your wallet a little lighter.

STOP 7: 313 Franklin Cocktails & Kitchen

End your day with dinner at South Hill's trendiest bar and restaurant. Housed in an old elementary school, the vibe is retro cafeteria turned craft kitchen. Grab a signature drink at the bar prepared by our resident mixologist as you wait for your table. The menu reads like a report card, and all the dishes are riffs on cafeteria culture. But the cafeteria connection ends there. The menu is filled with selections prepared simply and well. Enjoy braised pork chops. Order up sautéed shrimp in a light sauce. All meals are based upon locally sourced meats, vegetables and, in some cases, paired with local wines. When it comes to a great meal at the end of a wonderful day, we give this place an A+.

STOP 8: Bringleton's Coffee House

Ease into the morning with fresh-brewed, coffee prepared by hand. Bringleton’s Coffee House menu includes all your favorites from easy-going drip coffees to rocket-charged espressos to calm-me-down herbal teas. Order up some homemade toast topped with local jams or butter. There’s even that pastry in the display case you know you want but know you shouldn’t get. We say live dangerously and burn those extra calories off on a nice hike.

STOP 9: Hite's Clothing

New threads are calling your name at this classic main street clothing store. Hite’s Clothing carries a complete line of apparel, shoes, and accessories for the whole family in some of the brands you love. Shop local and leave happy.

STOP 10: Virginia Avenue Mall

A majestic tin rooster. Gingham children's clothing. A leopard print dog bed so soft you’ll want to take a nap in there. All are poised for shoppers to find at the Virginia Avenue Mall. Antique books. Designer handbags in bold prints. Custom painted corn hole boards. Stroll through 40 independent vendor booths and find what tickles your fancy.

STOP 11: Lunch at the Bridgewater Bar & Grill

Shopping, if done correctly, is cardio. So once you have worked up an appetite hop on over to the Bridgewater Bar and Grill, It's located right off the lake in downtown Clarksville. They serve up a hand-cut steaks, seafood specialties, burgers, salads and more. Find a seat and order up.

STOP 12: Grandfather's Country Creations

This beautifully curated store is an experience. Gorgeous, unique crafts, antiques and farmhouse decor are cleverly displayed. This oasis in downtown Clarksville will inspire you to rethink how you decorate. Decorative wreaths combine rustic nature and vibrant colors in ribbon and faux leaves, flowers, and fruit. Greenery is everywhere, so soak in some inspiration and bring home something to spruce up your home.

STOP 13: The Cottage Barn

This cute shop is part ice cream parlor, part upcycler's paradise. The owners of the Cottage Barn take old antiques and used things and give them life again. Purveyors of Anne Sloane Chalk paint, they sell furniture items they’ve refurbished and made over and offer workshops where folks can learn how to turn old heirlooms into pieces that fit their style. At the cafe, customers love the Homestead Creamery ice cream and sitting at the 1900s handbuilt counter bar for hot dogs, nachos, BBQ sandwiches and more. Two scoops while you shop? Now you know why we included this stop.

STOP 14: Cooper's Landing Inn & Traveler's Tavern

At the intersection of comfort and yum, you’ll find Cooper’s Landing Inn and Traveler’s Tavern. Dine in the main restaurant for a quaint and cozy vibe or catch some live music on the covered patio, festooned with blooming wisteria and dozens of twinkling lights. In true farm-to-table spirit, the menu changes seasonally and features the freshest, locally sourced meats, herbs, vegetables and ingredients available. Signature items include Black Angus beef, wild caught game, steamed seafood and organic produce. So come hungry. You can’t live a full life on an empty stomach.
