Welcome to Lake Gaston, Virginia’s third largest lake and a well-known getaway to thousands in the Richmond and Raleigh/Durham metropolitan areas.
Located on the Southeast edge of Mecklenburg County, Lake Gaston spreads through five counties and two states, truly housing a unique and varying populous along its shoreline. While smaller than Kerr Lake, it is still fairly large at 20,000 acres with 350 miles of shoreline.
Lake Gaston is active recreation lake. Many power boats, jet skis, and other powered craft can be found in abundance in this lake. It is also home to the popular and nationally-known AF Wake wakeboarding school – the image above is from AF Wake – click here to learn more.
